Dorothy Timmermann, LMFT,  Executive Director, has worked as a family therapist for twenty three years and is a graduate of Fairfield University where she obtained degrees in psychology and  family systems.  Ms. Timmermann has extensive experience in providing mental health and addiction services for adults, couples, and families, blending cognitive and solution-focused approaches to assist clients in achieving their goals. Prior to her work with Fairfield Counseling Services, Ms. Timmermann served as co-chair for the Greater Bridgeport HIV/AIDS Consortium and is currently serving as president-elect of the Connecticut Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CTAMFT)



James Alexander, M.D., Medical Director, has provided psychiatric consultation since 1985, and is a graduate of Fairfield Prep, Fairfield University and New Jersey College of Medicine.  In his current position as Medical Director, Dr. Alexander provides training, treatment planning, psychiatric evaluation and medication management.  He has expertise in working within a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of mental health issues, forensic psychiatry, pain management and post traumatic stress disorder.  Prior to medical school, Dr. Alexander served with the United States Marine Corps and continues his involvement serving as Commandant of the Housatonic Detachment of the Marine Corps League and as Judge Advocate of the Department of Connecticut Marine Corps League.



Joseph Brady, LCSW
, Clinical Director is a graduate of Fordham University where he earned a Masters of Social Work degree. Prior to serving as Clinical Director of Fairfield Counseling Services, Mr. Brady provided mental health services for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services unit at FSW, Inc. in Bridgeport and as a substance abuse counselor for Liberation Programs in both Stamford and Bridgeport. Mr. Brady’s treatment approach is to join with clients in a collaborative effort to build on strengths and engender positive and hopeful personal change. Mr. Brady believes in helping clients help themselves. As such, he combines a client-centered cognitive approach with action-oriented behavioral strategies to affect change.


Kathy Graziano, APRN, LMFT is a graduate of Fairfield University with degrees in Nursing and Marriage and Family Therapy, and a graduate of D’Yonville College.  Ms. Graziano is an accomplished advanced practice nurse, including psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, is Board Certified and a Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, in addition to a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Prior to joining Fairfield Counseling Services in 2002, Ms. Graziano served as Clinical Director for Bridgeport Hospital Intensive Outpatient Program, Program Manager for Young Adult Services at Greater Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center and as an APRN at Fairfield University. Currently, Ms Graziano also provides APRN services at Boys & Girls Village.


Cornelia Luzzi, LMFT
, Intake Coordinator, has been working as a marriage and family therapist for sixteen years, having received her M. A. degree from Fairfield University, a B. A. from Colby College and an MAT from Manhattanville College. Ms. Luzzi uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients learn to reduce or manage debilitating symptoms to improve their quality of life.  Ms. Luzzi has been a clinician at Fairfield Counseling Services since 1996 and a clinical supervisor since 2000.  Ms. Luzzi currently serves as the intake coordinator.


Martha-Lee Taylor, MFT, is a psychotherapist and graduate from Connecticut College and Southern Connecticut State University.  Prior to her work as a marriage and family therapist, Ms. Taylor spent 20 years in the corporate world.  Ms. Taylors’ training and experience as a psychotherapist, coupled with her background in business uniquely equips her to guide clients to attain their best.


Nancy Sadock, LMFT, has been working with individuals, couples and families at Fairfield Counseling Services for since 2005, having received her M.S. degree from Fairfield University, a bachelor degree in Psychology from the Universitsy of Massachusett, and a Physical Therapy degree from New York University. Ms. Sadock first became involved in counseling by serving as a mentor and lecturer for ten years to young mothers in a community based program.  Ms. Sadock uses both a systems approach and cognitive behavioral therapy and has experience in couple’s counseling, parenting, women’s issues, substance abuse and mood disorders.


Jennifer Slack, M. A., is a marriage and family therapist who graduated from Fairfield University with an M. A. in family systems in 2008. Previously she taught elementary school, having graduated from Wheelock College with an M. S. degree in education in 1991. Ms. Slack received her B. A. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1988. Ms. Slack works with individuals, couples and families to become “unstuck” from destructive patterns of thinking, behaving, and interacting. Ms. Slack uses an integration of effective psychotherapy models to help clients achieve more fulfilling lives.


Rebecca Ambrose, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, Mediator, and a graduate from Fairfield University. Prior to becoming a therapist, Ms. Ambrose spent eight years in the financial industry, working in London, New York City and Connecticut. Since leaving the financial sector, Ms. Ambrose has devoted the last seven years to her work as a family therapist, specializing in assisting others in achieving successful career changes, improved marital and family relationships, navigating life transitions successfully, and counseling parents on learning effective co-parenting skills. Ms. Ambrose also has extensive experience working with families impacted by domestic violence and employs strategies which facilitate the healing process in individuals, couples or family clients.


Kathy Mastronardi, Director of Administration is a native of Fairfield and has been with Fairfield Counseling Services since 1981. Ms. Mastronardi embodies the Agency’s deep commitment to the well being of the community, providing administrative support for the clinical staff and serving as a valuable resource to connect the opportunities within the community to the needs of the clients served by the Agency.


Debbie DeMarco
, Insurance Coordinator has been with Fairfield Counseling Services since 2001. Recognizing that insurance matters are often complicated and change frequently, Ms. DeMarco will provide prospective and current clients with information regarding their coverage, benefits and eligibility. She also works with uninsured clients to establish a fee based on their ability to pay. Fairfield Counseling Services wants to help you met your financial responsibility without undue hardship. We will work with you if you need to arrange a payment schedule and alleviate any concern you might have in managing your payments.


Kathy Olson and Emilia Eneh, Receptionist Staff, provide information and support for clients who are already in treatment and for callers requesting information about counseling services. Their gentle and helpful styles reflect the Agency philosophy of respectful response to questions and concerns.
